Support Groups for Mixed-Orientation Couples
Navigating a mixed-orientation relationship can be uniquely complex—and you’re not alone. Our Gamma Couples Group is a confidential support space for gay, bisexual, or questioning men who are in relationships with women, and for couples who are exploring how to move forward together with honesty, respect, and care.
About the Gamma Couples and Women's Groups
The Gamma Couples Group and a separate Gamma Women's Group began in late 2022 in response to a growing need: bisexual and gay men who wished to remain in their relationships with women were looking for a supportive environment for themselves and their partners. This group offers just that—a safe, compassionate space for couples who want to stay together while navigating the realities of a mixed-orientation partnership.

- Their spouses or long-term partners
- Couples who are actively seeking mutual understanding and support
Meeting Structure and Philosophy
Gamma groups are rooted in peer support and have been serving the community since the late 1970s. Our facilitator has been part of Gamma since 2011 and has led meetings since 2013. All meetings are held online via Zoom, allowing couples from anywhere to join.

- Monthly couples meetings
- Monthly women’s meetings (for wives and partners of the men in the couples group)
What to Expect
Our meetings are confidential and grounded in mutual respect, goodwill, and thoughtful dialogue. We recognize that some topics can be emotionally charged, so we ask couples to be mindful when sharing sensitive or personal issues that may affect their partner. For particularly challenging dynamics, we encourage working with a qualified couples therapist alongside group participation.
There is no cost to attend Gamma meetings. While we welcome voluntary donations to help support our work, they are completely optional.

Prerequisites
Men interested in participating in the couples group with their spouse should attend at least three weekly men's support groups before reaching out to join the couples support group. Men's support groups are posted on Meetup at https://www.meetup.com/gammasupport/.
How to Join
If couples in mixed orientation marriages are interested in learning more, the next step is a brief Zoom call with the facilitator to answer any questions and determine whether the group is a good fit for both of you.
