​New Year / New Life Resolutions

Entering a new year, with all the expectations around setting goals and looking ahead to the new year, can be especially challenging.  Men exploring their same sex attraction often while navigating a marriage to a woman can make looking ahead more then the next day difficult.  

The topic for this meeting was: New Year / New Life Resolutions.  Here are some of the topics we considered:

• As we enter the new year what goals and resolutions do we have?
• What's working and what is not working about our life?
• How can you love yourself more in the new year?
• Have you accepted shame and self hatred as part of coming out to your wife?  What can you do to get rid of shame and self hatred in the new year?
• How can we make the changes in our lives and have the life we hoped for as gay and bisexual men?
• Do old patterns and stereotypes prevent us from achieving the life we want?
• Where does internalized homophobia play a part in how you see yourself and how you see the larger LGBT community?  Does this way of seeing prevent you from achieving what you want to in the next year?
• How will 2016 be different?  
• What are your top five goals for the year?​
